Welcome to the Joe Malaika Foundation

At the Joe Malaika Foundation, we believe in a world where every amputee can walk with confidence and hope. Through fashion, representation, and rehabilitation support, we strive to restore mobility, dignity, and joy to those whose lives have been changed by amputation. Together, we celebrate resilience, courage, and the human spirit.

Our Story

In a world where fashion often celebrates perfection, Designer Joe Malaika chose a different path—one that honors resilience, courage, and the beauty of human spirit. The Joe Malaika Foundation was born from a moment that transcended style and stitched together purpose with passion.

It began with a groundbreaking tribute: the first-ever all-amputee model lineup, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing. Every step taken by the models, including co-founder Jared Kalera, an amputee himself, echoed a message of defiance against despair and a celebration of life beyond loss.

Jared, who has graced multiple Joe Malaika Excessive Fashion shows, became the living embodiment of the foundation’s mission: to empower amputees, especially across Africa, where access to prosthetics and rehabilitation is heartbreakingly scarce.

After the show, messages poured in from amputees around the globe. Joe Malaika responded not with fabric, but with action. He launched the Joe Malaika Foundation—a movement to restore mobility, dignity, and confidence to amputees who had been left behind.
